چکیده
A proof-of-concept for the reconstruction of historical temperatures from museum collections a commonly-occurring saprophagous mite is recounted. Technological readiness level 3 (TRL3) and TRL4 stage-gates were passed multiplex bioassay ambient temperature using re-purposed laboratory data setal body sizes female Tyrophagus putrescentiae (Acaridae: Astigmata) individuals. Higher yielded smaller mites with shorter setae. Partial predictive utility environmental composite scale measure was found field-collected in UK (≡TRL5 validation use). Tyrophagid size wild appears individually variable confounded cooler seasons through possible local heating effects (perhaps by virtue their presence numbers). Mite shape may change seasonally. Geographically dispersed detailed data-logging micro-temperatures field together targeted collection characterization at same locations measures density needed order to advance such biotechnology any demonstration effective use all year round (≡TRL6) final research.

Populations of Stored Product Mite Tyrophagus putrescentiae Differ in Their Bacterial Communities
BACKGROUND Tyrophagus putrescentiae colonizes different human-related habitats and feeds on various post-harvest foods. The microbiota acquired by these mites can influence the nutritional plasticity in different populations. We compared the bacterial communities of five populations of T. putrescentiae and one mixed population of T. putrescentiae and T. fanetzhangorum collected from different h...
متن کاملShift of Bacterial Community in Synanthropic Mite Tyrophagus putrescentiae Induced by Fusarium Fungal Diet
BACKGROUND Tyrophagus putrescentiae (Acari: Astigmata) and Fusarium sp. co-occur in poorly managed grain. In a laboratory experiment, mite grazing resulted in significant reduction of fungal mycelium on cultivation plates. The destruction of mycelium appeared to be a result of an interaction between the mites, fungi and associated bacteria. METHODOLOGY AND PRINCIPAL FINDINGS A laboratory expe...
متن کاملCould cannabidiol be used as an alternative to antipsychotics?
Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that affects close to 1% of the population. Individuals with this disorder often present signs such as hallucination, anxiety, reduced attention, and social withdrawal. Although antipsychotic drugs remain the cornerstone of schizophrenia treatment, they are associated with severe side effects. Recently, the endocannabinoid system (ECS) has emerged as a potenti...
متن کاملImmune responses to tyrophagus putrescentiae-induced airway inflammation in mice.
BACKGROUND Storage mites are a source of aeroallergens that affect patients with allergic rhinitis and asthma. Tyrophagus putrescentiae is a causative factor of airway hypersensitivity, but the mechanisms and pathogenesis of Tputrescentiae-induced allergy are not well understood. OBJECTIVE This study aimed to develop a murine model of T putrescentiae-induced allergic asthma. METHODS Immune ...

Group-5 and group-21 allergens, produced by house dust mites and storage mites are 36.6-55.8% identical in their sequences and are recognized by at least 50% of immunoglobulin (Ig)E from the sera of individuals allergic to dust mites. In the present study, recombinant group-5 and ‑21 allergens from three mite species, Dermatophagoides farinae (rDer f 5 and 21), Tyrophagus putrescentiae (rTyr p ...
